Gentle Calming for Young Smiles

At Pinnacle Dental, we understand that pediatric dental visits can feel overwhelming for children. That's why we offer pediatric nitrous oxide sedation (also called laughing gas) to help ease anxiety, reduce fear, and create a more comfortable experience for your child. With Dr. Megan Kottman and our caring team, nitrous is administered safely, so your child remains relaxed yet responsive throughout their treatment.

How Pediatric Nitrous Works

Nitrous oxide is a mild sedative gas inhaled through a soft nasal mask. It helps children feel calm, yet they stay awake and able to respond to directions. Effects begin within minutes, and once the treatment is complete, the gas is turned off. Pure oxygen is administered briefly to flush any remaining nitrous oxide. Recovery is fast, and most kids feel normal again almost immediately.

Nitrous Benefits & Safety

Nitrous oxide is perfect for children who feel nervous or uneasy about dental procedures. Your child remains awake but calm, allowing for smoother treatments. The effects begin and end rapidly, with little downtime afterward. Additionally, we always review your child's medical history and assess if nitrous oxide is suitable. It may not be ideal for children with nasal obstructions or certain medical conditions.

Is Pediatric Nitrous Right for Your Child?

If your child feels anxious, has trouble sitting still, or finds dental visits scary, pediatric nitrous oxide may be an excellent option. At Pinnacle Dental in Grove City, we prioritize safety, working with you to decide whether this gentle approach is right for your child's comfort.
